Diary Dates

Saturday 22nd September: The Friends fundraising coffee morning. In the Old and St Andrew’s Kirk Hall. Doors open 10 am. Entry £2.00. With Friends sales point, baking stall, raffle, bric-a-brac, tombola, & book stalls. All welcome come & spend lots of money.

Thurs 11th October: From 2 pm. A “Lamb” walk starting at St Mary’s & St Peter’s Church, Mid Links to the War Memorial and return. No charge, but refreshments available after in support of church funds. Entry is open to all, but sorry no unaccompanied children. Wednesday 17th October: 7 pm at St Mary’s and St Peter’s Church Mark Spalding will be giving an organ recital. Entry is by donation – to be shared between the church organ fund and the Friends of William Lamb. A varied programme of music - Purcell, Mendelssohn, Bach & Messiaen, but some more locally relevant pieces. One is by Alfred Hollins, whose bust is in the Lamb Studio and another a composition by Ronald Stevenson (marking his 90th anniversary) who was a close friend of Hugh McDiarmid, setting music to a lot of his lyrics written while a Montrose resident in the 1920s.

Friday 19th October: The Friends will host their (delayed) 40th birthday party to mark the opening of the William Lamb Studio as a museum & gallery. This will include a special “show and tell” of Lamb pieces held in private collections. The new Friends “Membership Gift packs” will be on sale. Apologies, but due to space issues, this event is by invitation only. Friends look out for yours, they should be delivered shortly.
